Why don’t people always do what they know is safe?
In this training, we delve into the heart of human behaviour. We start with insights from behavioural psychology and apply them to safety in the workplace.
Participants learn how behaviour develops, why good intentions are often not enough, and which factors determine whether someone acts safely or not.
We work with two powerful models to better understand and influence behaviour, with a specific focus on the impact of consequences.
The emphasis is on practical application: participants learn how to effectively steer safety behaviour in their day-to-day role as a manager.

Many safety initiatives focus on rules, procedures, and knowledge.
But behaviour does not change through knowledge alone.
Behaviour is shaped by habits, context, and what people experience as a result of their actions. By understanding these mechanisms, managers can steer safety efforts in a far more targeted and effective way.
This training helps you take the step from “we KNOW what is safe” to “we also DO what is safe”.
