What is the SCL?

The Safety Culture Ladder is an international certification programme to assess, measure and improve safety culture, safety awareness and consciously safe behaviour in organisations.

The Safety Culture Ladder consists of five steps and has a certification programme.

What do you learn in the training?

  • In this introductory training on the Safety Culture Ladder (SCL 2.0) you will learn how to measure and improve safety within your organisation.
  • You will discover how to use the Safety Culture Ladder to increase safety awareness among your staff and bring about a positive change in behaviour.
  • You will learn to assess organisations on the basis of their safety culture and what steps you can take to bring about a positive behavioural change among staff. This applies not only to processes within the organisation itself, but also to the entire chain.
  • You will discover what the certification scheme looks like, how it works and what the added value is for your organisation.
  • You will also learn more about the concepts of safety culture, attitude and behaviour.

Knowledge needed for this training?

The training can be taken as an introduction to the Safety Culture Ladder or as preparation for the two-day SCL 2.0 auditor training. It is a traditional training course that covers the content and structure of the requirements of the Safety Culture Ladder.
