What?

In this interactive workshop, participants experience firsthand the impact of cell phone use on their attention, perception, and behavior.

Through playful yet thought-provoking exercises, they discover the difference between working with focus and working amid digital distractions.

  • No finger-pointing. No theory overload.
  • Instead: experiencing – comparing – identifying – learning

The cell phone isn’t the enemy, but it is a risk factor if not used mindfully.

Why?

Because distractions are a daily reality in the workplace:

  • Multitasking doesn’t exist—our brain switches between tasks and loses focus
  • Every notification = micro-interruption = increased risk
  • Cell phone use reduces perception, reaction time, and situational awareness
  • What seems harmless can lead to incidents or accidents in the workplace

Attention is a safety tool.
And today, it’s under constant pressure.

How?

This workshop is entirely experiential and built around contrast:

  • Exercises with and without a cell phone
  • Tasks performed under time pressure and distractions
  • Completing an obstacle course with and without a cell phone
  • A final game that challenges your observational skills

Participants feel the difference and draw their own lasting conclusions.

In a nutshell

  • Raising awareness of cell phone use in and around the workplace
  • Understanding the impact of distractions on safety, focus, and performance
  • Experiencing (rather than being told) what multitasking really does to your attention
  • Ideal as a Safety Day workshop or a short, high-impact intervention

Banzai!

After this workshop:

  • Participants will be more aware of their cell phone use
    • They will understand why multitasking undermines attention
    • They will have reflected on which situations pose additional risks

Small insights, big impact on focus and safety!
