In brief

  • Understanding yourself as a leader in safety
  • Understanding your impact on behaviour and safety in the workplace
  • Role modelling as a lever for safety culture
  • Understanding and influencing motivation

What?

Safety does not start with procedures, but with people. And as a manager, you play a key role in this.

In this training, participants explore their own role as safety leaders. They gain insight into how their personal style, beliefs, and drivers have a direct impact on the behaviour of their team.

We make this concrete: how do you influence safety through what you say, what you do, and especially what you do not do?

We also focus on motivation: when do people take ownership of safety, and when do they not?

Using the ABC model, participants are given a practical framework to better understand and influence behaviour and motivation in the workplace.

Contents:

  • Understanding my personal leadership style and its impact
  • My role as a safety role model (what I do, allow, and tolerate)
  • Motivation and behaviour
  • What encourages safe behaviour (and what does not)
  • Reflecting on my own leadership and specific situations
  • Applying this to day-to-day practice in the workplace

Why?

People don’t always do what is expected of them…but they do what they see and experience.

As a manager, you therefore have a greater impact than you sometimes realize. Not through rules, but through your behavior, your attention, and the example you set.

By gaining insight into your own motivations and the effect you have on others, you can guide safety more consciously.

This training helps managers take that step: from “person in charge” to a true safety leader.

Banzai!

After this training:

  • You will have gained insight into yourself as a leader and your impact on safety
  • You will understand how motivation and behaviour work in the workplace
  • You will recognise the signals you send as a role model
  • You will have the tools to actively influence safety within your team
